1 Maintenant concernant les dons spirituels, frères, je ne voudrais pas que vous soyez ignorants.

 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2 Vous savez que vous étiez des Gentils, entraînés vers ces idoles muettes, alors même que vous étiez menés.

 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3 C’est pourquoi je veux vous faire comprendre qu’aucun homme parlant par l’Esprit de Dieu n’appelle Jésus maudit: et qu’aucun homme ne peut dire que Jésus est le Seigneur, sinon par l’Esprit Saint.

 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4 Or il y a diversité de dons, mais le même Esprit.

 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 Et il y a des différences d’admin-istrations, mais le même Seigneur.

 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 Et il y a diversité d’opérations, mais c’est le même Dieu qui œuvre tout en tous.

 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 Mais la manifestation de l’Esprit est donnée à chaque homme pour en profiter.

 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 Car à l’un est donnée par l’Esprit la parole de sagesse; à un autre la parole de connaissance par le même Esprit;

 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 À un autre la foi par le même Esprit; à un autre les dons de guérison par le même Esprit;

 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 À un autre d’effectuer des miracles; à un autre la prophétie; à un autre le discernement des esprits; à un autre diverses sortes de langues; à un autre l’interprétation des langues:

 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 Mais tous ceux-ci le seul et même Esprit les effectue, distribuant à chaque homme séparément comme il veut.

 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12 Car comme le corps est un, et a beaucoup de membres, et tous les membres de ce seul corps, bien qu’étant nombreux, sont un seul corps: ainsi aussi est Christ.

 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13 Car par un seul Esprit nous sommes tous baptisés en un seul corps, soit que nous soyons Juifs, soit Gentils, soit que nous soyons asservis, soit libres; et nous avons tous été faits pour boire en un seul Esprit.

 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

14 Car le corps n’est pas un seul membre, mais beaucoup.

 14 For the body is not one member, but many.

15 Si le pied disait, Parce que je ne suis pas la main, je ne fais pas partie du corps; ne fait-il donc pas partie du corps?

 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

16 Et si l’oreille disait, Parce que je ne suis pas l’œil, je ne fais pas partie du corps; ne fait-elle donc pas partie du corps?

 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?

17 Si tout le corps était un œil, où serait l’ouïe? Si tout était ouïe, où serait l’odorat?

 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

18 Mais maintenant Dieu a placé les membres, chacun d’entre eux dans le corps, comme il lui a plu.

 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 Et s’ils n’étaient tous qu’un seul membre, où serait le corps?

 19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 Mais maintenant il y a beaucoup de membres, cependant un seul corps.

 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 Et l’œil ne peut pas dire à la main, Je n’ai pas besoin de toi: ni encore la tête aux pieds, je n’ai pas besoin de vous.

 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Non, bien plus, ces membres du corps, lesquels semblent être les plus faibles, sont nécessaires:

 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 Et ces membres du corps, que nous estimons être moins honorables, à ceux-là nous concédons beaucoup plus d’honneur; et nos parties non attrayantes ont abondamment plus d’attrait.

 23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 Car nos parties attrayantes n’ont pas de besoin: mais Dieu a adapté le corps en donnant beaucoup plus d’honneur à cette partie qui en manquait:

 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:

25 Afin qu’il n’y ait pas de schisme dans le corps; mais que les membres aient le même soin l’un pour l’autre.

 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 Et si un membre souffre, tous les membres souffrent avec lui; ou si un membre est honoré, tous les membres se réjouissent avec lui.

 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Or vous êtes le corps de Christ, et ses membres en particulier.

 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

28 Et Dieu a placé quelques-uns dans l’église, en premier les apôtres, deuxièmement les prophètes, troisièmement les enseignants, ensuite les miracles, puis les dons de guérisons, d’aides, de gouvernements, de diversités de langues.

 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

29 Sont-ils tous apôtres? Sont-ils tous prophètes? sont-ils tous enseignants? effectuent-ils tous des miracles?

 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

30 Ont-ils tous des dons de guérisons? parlent-ils tous des langues? Interprètent-ils tous?

 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

31 Mais souhaitez ardemment les meilleurs dons: et cependant je vous montre un chemin plus excellent.

 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
