1 Suivez mon exemple, comme moi aussi, je suis celui de Christ.

 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

2 Or je vous loue, frères, que vous vous souveniez de moi en toutes choses, et gardiez les ordonnances, comme je vous les ai livrées.

 2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.

3 Mais je voudrais que vous sachiez, que la tête de tout homme est Christ; et la tête de la femme est l’homme; et la tête de Christ est Dieu.

 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

4 Tout homme priant ou prophétisant, ayant sa tête couverte, déshonore sa tête.

 4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

5 Mais toute femme qui prie ou prophétise avec sa tête découverte déshonore sa tête: car c’est comme si elle était rasée.

 5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

6 Car si la femme n’est pas couverte, qu’elle soit aussi tondue: mais s’il est honteux pour une femme d’être tondue ou rasée, qu’elle soit couverte.

 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

7 Car un homme en effet ne doit pas couvrir sa tête, puisqu’il est l’image et la gloire de Dieu: mais la femme est la gloire de l’homme.

 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

8 Car l’homme ne provient pas de la femme; mais la femme de l’homme.

 8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.

9 D’ailleurs l’homme ne fut pas non plus créé pour la femme; mais la femme pour l’homme.

 9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

10 Pour ce motif la femme doit avoir le pouvoir sur sa tête à cause des anges.

 10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

11 Néanmoins ni l’homme n’est pas sans la femme, ni la femme sans l’homme, dans le Seigneur.

 11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

12 Car comme la femme est de l’homme, oui certainement l’homme aussi est de la femme; mais toutes choses sont de Dieu.

 12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

13 Jugez-en vous-mêmes: est-il convenable qu’une femme prie Dieu la tête découverte?

 13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

14 La nature elle-même ne vous enseigne-t-elle pas, que, si un homme a de longs cheveux, c’est une honte pour lui?

 14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

15 Mais si une femme a de longs cheveux, c’est une gloire pour elle: car sa chevelure lui est donnée pour la couvrir.

 15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.

16 Mais si quelqu’un semble être contentieux, nous n’avons pas une telle coutume, ni les églises de Dieu.

 16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.

17 Or en ceci que je vous déclare, je ne vous loue pas, c’est que vous vous assemblez, non pour le meilleur, mais pour le pire.

 17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

18 Car tout d’abord, lorsque vous vous assemblez dans l’église, j’apprends qu’il y a des divisions parmi vous; et je le crois en partie.

 18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

19 Car il doit y avoir aussi des hérésies parmi vous, afin que ceux qui sont approuvés puissent être rendus manifestes parmi vous.

 19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

20 Quand donc vous vous assemblez dans un lieu, ce n’est pas pour manger le souper du Seigneur.

 20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.

21 Car en mangeant chacun prend avant l’autre son propre souper: et l’un a faim, et l’autre est ivre.

 21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

22 Quoi? N’avez-vous pas des maisons pour y manger et boire? ou méprisez-vous l’église de Dieu, et faites honte à ceux qui n’ont pas? Que vous dirai-je? Vous louerai-je en ceci? Je ne vous loue pas.

 22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23 Car j’ai reçu du Seigneur ce qu’aussi je vous ai livré, Que le Seigneur Jésus la nuit même en laquelle il fut trahi, prit du pain:

 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

24 Et lorsqu’il eut remercié, il le rompit, et dit, Prenez, mangez: ceci est mon corps, lequel est rompu pour vous: faites ceci en mémoire de moi.

 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

25 De la même manière aussi il prit la coupe, lorsqu’il eut soupé, disant, Cette coupe est le nouveau testament en mon sang: faites ceci, aussi souvent que vous la boirez, en mémoire de moi.

 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 Car aussi souvent que vous mangez ce pain, et buvez cette coupe, vous déclarez la mort du Seigneur, jusqu’à ce qu’il vienne.

 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.

27 C’est pourquoi quiconque mangera ce pain, et boira cette coupe du Seigneur, indignement, sera coupable du corps et du sang du Seigneur.

 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 Mais que chaque homme s’examine lui-même, et qu’ainsi il mange de ce pain et boive de cette coupe.

 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 Car celui qui mange et qui boit indignement, mange et boit sa damnation, ne discernant pas le corps du Seigneur.

 29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

30 C’est pour ce motif que beaucoup sont faibles et maladifs parmi vous, et que beaucoup dorment.

 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 Car si nous nous jugions nous-mêmes, nous ne serions pas jugés.

 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 Mais lorsque nous sommes jugés, nous sommes châtiés par le Seigneur, afin que nous ne soyons pas condamnés avec le monde.

 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33 C’est pourquoi, mes frères, lorsque vous vous assemblez pour manger, attendez-vous l’un l’autre.

 33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.

34 Et si quelqu’un a faim, qu’il mange chez lui; afin que vous n’alliez pas ensemble vers la condamnation. Et quant au reste, je le réglerai quand je serai arrivé.

 34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.
